Results of the 2021 Melitian General Election

The Democratic Christian Republic of Melite successfully held it's first General Election after years of one-party rule, first under the Potato Party, and then under the Christian Nationalist Party of Melite.

Even though the elections were multi-party, the CNP still won with a landslide, but only with the help of the TT Party, whom with the CNP formed a Coalition named the National Alliance Front. The NAF won 3 seats of out the 4 in the Melitian Parliament. The Anarchist party fared badly as it lost a seat to the NAF, although it still remains in the opposition.

The citizenry chose their first Prime Minister, two candidates, Arama Vella (NAF), and Raphael Cassar (AP), ran for office, with Arama Vella getting 60% of the Vote.

The People of Melite also voted whether to confirm Jeremy Galea (NAF) to the post of Governor of Comino, or not. No party, except for the NAF put forward a candidate for Governor of Comino. He got 70% of the Yes vote, 10% of the No vote, and 20% abstained. This was a plebiscite-like vote, as it only served to confirm.

The citizens of Melite in the YeLand Special Administrative Region of the D.C.R. Melite, also voted for the Regional Council of the YeLand SAR. As only two citizens reside in the YeLand SAR, and both ran for office (the YeLand Regional Council requires 2 seats), they were approved instantly.

The President of the Republic congratulated the winners and hopes to inaugurate the 2nd Parliament of Melite soon.
